Obituary for Frank Vromans

Peacefully in his sleep with his daughter Elizabeth at his side on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Macassa Lodge in Hamilton. Predeceased by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Nora (July 1, 2011).
Frank was born June 7, 1926 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch , the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in June of 1963 with Nora and their 4 children. 1965 brought the addition of another child to complete their family. Frank was a veteran, having reached the rank of Sergeant in the RAF. He will be sadly missed by his children, Audrey, John & Karen, Liz & Steven (Kingsley), Frank, Jim & Marlene.
Frank was a proud Opa to Tiffany, Devon, Robin, Tim, Kristen, Ally, Colton, Hannah & Molly and Groot Opa to Colin and Autumn. Frank was a retired employee of Robertson Building Systems. He is predeceased by all of his siblings in the Netherlands but survived by many nieces and nephews and their families in the Netherlands and Australia. Cremation has taken place. A special thank you to all of the staff at Macassa Lodge, Hamilton, for making the last few years of dad’s life so comfortable.

Rob Houdijk

Dear cousins,
I wish you all the strength needed to replace your sadness by a series of dear and precious memories. It is a long time ago since I last saw your dad in Holland and it dates back to my childhood that I have my memories of him, memories of a fine uncle with a rather outspoken character. May the fact that he became so old be a source of joy to you all and lead once more to the realization that life is worth while living intensively every day.
fondest regards,
Rob Houdijk

Alan Kerr

Back in 1977, after meeting Audrey in France, I arrived and stayed at the Vromans home and enjoyed the hospitality of both Frank and Nora. Both were very kind to me back then. Despite not being an official family member anymore, I always felt welcome when invited to a family event, special occasion or a celebratory lunch. Now Frank will be with his true love again. RIP Mr Vromans and thank you for giving me my start in Canada. You will be missed. Much love Alan.
